Introduction

The Ridgecrest Baptist Church Prayer Ministry is based on three concepts using the acronym ICE.

I Intentional

C Consistent

E Effective

People who commit to pray for certain ministries within the church and for circumstances beyond RBC church walls are intentional in their prayers. People who commit to pray during certain days are consistent in their prayers. People who commit to pray for the needs of the church, city, state, country, and world are engaged in being part of God’s work and thereby are an effective part of the kingdom of God.

We have teams that pray for the Pastor, the Music Ministry, the Youth Ministry, the Children’s Ministry, the needs of church members, the church administration team, and global concerns.

  • Adoration is prayer that involves the recognition of who God is and what He does (Psalms 148 and 150).
  • Confession recognizes the holiness of God and His supreme moral authority, together with the personal responsibility of the one making confession (Psalm 51).
  • Thanksgiving recognizes that God’s goodness is the respect of what He has done for the one who prays or for others (Psalm 95:1-2).
  • Supplication is praying for the needs of our self and others (Matt. 6:9-13).

 

Praying for our church

The prayer of Jesus—John 17:1-26

Pray like Jesus.

(1) John 17:22 Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Pray that we we sense the divine power and majesty of God in our worship.

(2) John 17:8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them.

Pray that we accept and understand the Word of God as the foundation of every aspect of our lives. Pray also for our pastor that he will always preach truthfully and powerly as he opens up Scripture. Pray that we will endevour to study and be faithful to God’s Word.

(3) John 17:21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

Pray that we may always be united in love for one another. Pray that the world around us see our unity and love and desire to know the source of that unity.

(4) John 17:17-18 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

Pray that we may understand and accept that we have been set aside to go out and proclaim the gospel so that people may hear the good news that they can be forgiven of their sins and be made right with God. Pray that we would have a loving heart for the unsaved persons around us. Pray that we would always be alert for opportunities to share and pray that we would be prepared to share the gospel.

(5) John 17:13 But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.

Pray that we may experience the full measure of joy of Jesus as we give God glory, obey His Word, be united in love, and carry out His mission.

Pray for Pastor Scott

  • Pray specific Scriptures over him and his family.
  • Pray Pray for his spiritual life to flourish.
  • Pray that he will be strong in the face of opposition.
  • Pray that he will flee temptation.
  • Pray that he will be spiritually wise and equipped for battle (Ephesians 6).
  • Pray that he is sensitive to the leading and conviction of the Holy Spirit.
  • Pray that he has wisdom to balance ministry, family and other responsibilities.
  • Pray that he fixes his eyes on the eternal reward and doesn’t get discouraged.
  • Pray that he humbles himself continually before God.
  • Pray for him and his wife: that they would be unified, give one another support and understanding, and that they would fight for their marriage on their knees and with their time.
  • Pray for him and his children: that he would spend sufficient time with them, validate and affirm them and that he would be present and available.
  • Pray that God would grant him breakthrough in his ministry: that he would see lives transformed!
